Global Week in Lime

Mrs Brewis introduced this years theme during Collective Worship on Monday

and then in class we looked at the World Food Day activity book and at our page on Agriculture.

We are also looking at the Traidcraft website and at ‘Making a World of Difference’.

Thinking about Fairtrade and where our food comes from and how we can help farmers all over the world by buying Fraitrade food.

We then designed the front cover of our Global Week scrapbook-

On Tuesday and today we worked in groups to find out more about 5 different crops: Sugar, Rice, Honey and dried blueberries, Quinoa and Raisins.

We had to find out how, where and who produced these foods and then present this information to the rest of the class in a role play, drama activity – in a Fairtrade Market place.

Tomorrow we are going to try to make some cereal bars with some of these ingredients and use some to complete a collage for our page on Agriculture in the World Food Day book.

We have also been working on our times tables in maths. We have been learning a new game to help us learn our x4, x8, x3 and x6

In English we have been writing our recounts of our visit to the Roman Baths, editing and writing up the final draft as our hot task as the final step of our talk for writing.

Also, coming soon, take a look at the school sports blog for photos and a match report of the year 3 and 4 football tournament
