Week 2 – Poetry Reading Awards

This week we all chose our poetry book for the Spring Term Reading Award. We have made poetry the focus of our reading targets too so can everyone read a minimum of 10 poems from each book and then try to memorise one of these to recite to the class. At the end of the Spring terms we are all going to try and learn at least one poem by heart.

We also used the laptops to help us with our mental addition and subtraction of near multiples of 100 and 1000.

Happy New Year

We have had a very busy first week of the New Year.

Our new topic is Geography – North America; we are also looking at the water cycle and the journey of a river.

We started by looking at globes, atlases and world maps  – finding and naming the continents and oceans. We were very good at this!P1110236 P1110235 P1110234 P1110233 P1110237
